Silent a group message

Is there to silent a group message during the day? I don't want to end it, and don't want to silent all text messages, but the one group message. If a conversation gets going my phone may vibrate 20 times. I would like to silent just this one message. But still vibrate for others that come in. Though I still want to get the messages from the group just not notify me about them.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone, and which messaging app are you using? I use Hangouts as my default SMS app, and if I select a message thread and then tap Menu>Options, I can turn off notifications for that thread only. See if your messaging app has a similar function.
