Verizon Elipsis7 tablet allowsfor shortcut to be placed on Home Page - Isn't happening

Even tho notice on bottom of screen saying to the effect that short cut is being added to Home Page - No short cut is visible on any of the screens --
Could it be not enough memory space or is it me?

1. Exactly what are you looking for as a shortcut? (It's just going to be the app's icon, nothing more, no little arrow.)

2. Is there room on that homepage for more icons? If not, you'll get the notice but no shortcut. Adding a shortcut doesn't remove other shortcuts, it just puts one in a blank space. If there's no blank space, there's no way to put an icon in one.
