HP Laptop won't connect to cellular hotspot, what can I do?

HP Laptop won't connect to cellular hotspot

I have seen several posts with this question, but no reply that has worked for me. I turn on the hotspot from my Sprint phone. Other phones will connect to the hotspot and my other laptops will also connect to the hotspot on my phone.

My HP Envy laptop sees the hotspot but will not connect. I get a message "Cannot connect to this network." Since everything else connects to the hotspot except this HP Laptop, I assume the problem comes from the laptop.

The posts I have seen talk about changes to the hotspot security but I know that is not an issue since my older Dell laptop connects with no problem and it has the same basic network setup as my newer HP Envy.

Does anyone know of a solution to this problem? Much to my chagrin, HP wanted $100 for a one-time service call. NO thanks!!

Are you trying to connect the HP when other devices are connected? Most hotspots have a limit (like 4) of how many devices can be connected at once.
