How do I remove the backup password required after restarting my phone?

And another question.....after the latest Marshmallow update I now have to use a backup password after I restart my phone. That was never required before. I have always just used a fingerprint to unlock the screen. Can this be removed or changed? I tried looking in the phone settings to see if the update reset something but didn't see a change.

Unfortunately there's no way to change this. It will ask you for your password first after rebooting, no matter what. It's a security measure that cannot be disabled in the settings (at least not in a stock, non-rooted phone).
