Why/how is phone taking screenshots?
Every once in a while I glance at my phone and see a brief message like "processing screenshot." What can take screenshots without my permission?
I do not have a screenshot app on my (standard, un-rooted) Transform. I'm wondering if there's some sort of malware involved but no idea how to even check. I do use Lookout. Could that be the culprit?

Thanks for your reply. I did not install any of the apps listed at that link. I've only installed apps from Market. I even search out firewalls and virus scanners and installed Lookout because I was trying to be careful.
It does seem like there's something bad going on. Just no idea how to nail down what it is.

I don't know what might be suspicious... I did check and I do have settings so the phone doesn't install apps from non-market sources.
My installed apps:
- adobe reader
- where's my droid
- spell checker
- growing degree days
- good morning
- barcode scanner
- contacts groupu
- garage sale rover free
- advanced task killer free
- law of attraction free
- angry birds
- sprint tutorial widgets
- sense clock and date
- roboform bookmarklet installer
- tip me
- vignette demo
If those all look OK, are there any "stealth" apps, like spyware or keyloggers on PCs, that could be hiding from view?

Thanks. I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't know how to browse photos on my Transform to view any strange screenshots. The only way I know to see photos is to open the camera app, click on the last photo thumbnail, then scroll back through earlier photos.
When I do that, I do not see any screenshots as mentioned in your link about holding down the back button.
Is there another way to check for the screenshots, other than connecting to my pc?

Running 2.1 update1.
Don't know how I missed Gallery! Added a link to my home screen. I do have screenshots mixed into my photos. Will pay attention and see if it happens when I'm using the back button. Hope that's the cause, and not some malware or spyware.
Will figure out how to update to froyo now...
