    Driving me bonkers! Tried clearing data and cache in App Manager with refresh. No go. Disabled IMAP on Gmail web with phone refresh. No go.

    How do I clear the false Unread count?

    Check from your gmail account online and see if you can find an unread one. Maybe you didnt realize it and moved it to a folder or something.

    I had 10 messages in my Inbox... started to open each one, when I got to the 3rd one it was not registered as read, when in fact it was on the web account. Some how the refresh/sync from the web did not pass the read/unread flag on that particular email.

    Oh well... all is well.

    Make sure you don't accidentally star a message. I had one starred and saw the same thing.
