Transfering from SD to SD
I recently bought a 32Gb micro SD card for my EVO. I plugged my phone into my computer via the USB cable, and I plugged the SD card into the computer via the adapter. I spent over an hour waiting while the info copied and pasted from one drive to the other. When I looked in the new card root, it showed 7Gb of memory taken up on the new card, just like the old card, yet when I put it into the phone there were MANY things missing. No pix were transferred at all.
I formatted the new card and tried again, with the same problem. when I looked into the individual folders, some show the same number of files but with different amounts of space. How can I get everything transferred properly without wasting more time? - 03-31-2011, 10:44 AM #2
Welcome.
You have to format both cards in your phone, but looks like you got a junk card off of ebay.
If not, then what you need to do is this:
1) Copy info from card A to the pc (Make a folder on the desktop)
2) Then put the new card B into your device and format it.
3) Copy contents from the PC to the new card.
Formating a card in the PC is a no no.Thanked by: - 03-31-2011, 10:48 AM #3

The key though is not to format the new card in a pc and to format it in the phone.

Different file formats....let the device create the DCIM folders, etc. for you.
Then just override them with the old contents. - 03-31-2011, 11:00 AM
