Hey @sfoLAX, do you want me to move this to the X Style forum, or did you want it in this general Batteries forum?

Thanks. I don't mind. Whatever you think.

The X Style forum looks just now like a graveyard compared to it's fancier American cousin the X Pure

One of those, or General Help and How To - and stick battery in the title, or I can edit the post.

Ok, I'll move it to General Help. The Batteries forum is also a bit sparse in terms of recent posts.

I'll also put up the Rukbatsignal to get him to notice.

That seems reasonable. Now that I think about it, 6 months without charging while the phone is completely powered off should be fine. I would imagine that it might be a problem if the battery was at 1% when you first sent it in, but if it was around 50% or higher, that should be good for months. (I've read that it's actually better to store an unused device/battery with the charge at around 50% compared to higher levels.)

I wouldn't call leaving the battery in the phone (I don't buy phones that don't have user-removable batteries) for 6 months is a great idea, but it should still be around 20% to 40% if you stored it at 50% to 60%. (A fully charged battery self-discharges faster than one at 50%.) And even dropping it to 20% a couple of times won't destroy the battery.
