I am wondering if an unlocked android phone could access the sim card of a different phone using remote sim mode. I am a young android developer, but I am reluctant to buy an android phone because of the required data plans (which I don't need - I have enough WiFi access to make do.) I have a Samsung Solstice 2 under contract with AT&T. If I bought an unlocked Nexus S, could I make calls/text through the SIM card of the Solstice by turning on Remote SIM Mode on the Solstice? And would this result in AT&T slapping a data plan on my phone bill?
While it may seem silly, keep in mind that I would be using the Nexus S for app development. This could allow me to more fully test my applications without having to pay for a data plan.
