So here's the skinny: I'm on liberty ROM 2.0 (NOT gingerbread). I have a mac. So all of the sbf'ing required to get to .340 to get to root gingerbread -- not going to happen. There is no way in hell i'm buying xp to run on my mac for anything in the entire world, including getting to gingerbread liberty.
So, that means my rooting days are over for now. I need to unroot. But, now i'm confused. If I flash back to stock, unroot, can't I just get the gingerbread update OTA? Or at least .340?
Is there any way to get to .340 without sbf'ing? I've heard maderstock doesn't actually work for getting to .340 to gingerbread root. Is there an organic way of doing it that involved unrooting and getting OTA updated? I'd be more then happy to try stock gingerbread for a while.
Basically, there has to be a way for me to unroot and get to stock gingerbread. And there HAS to be a way to get folks from stock gingerbread to root gingerbread otherwise everyone who buys a new phone with GB on it will be out of luck - which doesn't make any sense.
Can someone point me towards a way to do this?
