Question Samsung Intercept... will it fit my needs?

Until now I've only had prepaid basic phones(Tracfone, PayGo), but I'm thinking of switching to the $25/month Virgin Mobile plan.
I also lost my iPod Touch recently, and am looking for a phone that has mp3 and web capabilities.

I'm totally new to the Android world and feel intimidated by all the clashing opinions.
I've been seeing a lot of negative reviews for the Intercept saying that the Optimus V is better, but I really like the slide-out QWERTY keyboard. I'm not going to be using a ton of apps and don't mind waiting a couple of seconds, so is it worth it to go with the Intercept for its keyboard?

    My uses will be:

    - Calls
    - Texting
    - Music
    - GPS
    - Email
    - Netflix (would there be lag on videos?)
    - Facebook

If it can perform these functions efficiently and effectively, I think I'm going with the Intercept. I plan to upgrade to a 16GB card for my music.

Also, I found some people saying it can't handle Angry Birds. Is this true? That's probably the only game I'd get, but I can live without it.

EDIT: The Intercept is on sale right now for $150, so price isn't a factor.

I think you will be happy with the Intercept. It has a faster processor that will handle apps fine. It seems like you want a keyboard so that is a plus. Just be warned., you're forecast uses from the device will change once you use a smart phone . You'll use it more intensely when you settle down with it.

I've used an Optimus S and like the Optimus line. Personally, I would settle for an Optimus, but that's personal preference.
