Can someone please tell me how to do a Factory Reset on my Android 2.2 tablet?

There are no options in the settings menu.

I believe it may be a GPad GForce tablet - it's from China.

Uh cha wang, chee ma chee ka.

Ok, you should be able to boot to the recovery menu.

Now, bear in mind, most folks here are phone users. The tablet numbers are climbing.

However, it should be relatively the same in a sense.

Usually, it involves turning the power off (shutting down) then, holding the Volume button, and hitting and holding the power button, it should boot to recovery.

Now, this method should be similar. But check google "boot to recovery xxxxx (tablet model)"

Then from the recovery menu, you should be able to navigate to Reset/system reset/system restore

I'm not even really sure what tablet I have. I think it's a GPad GForce.

Is "Recovery" also a factory reset? How dangerous is it to do?

Recovery is a menu system. Sort of like system tools. Hopefully there, you will find an option similar to Factory default, or original settings.

Note that doing this, will set your tab to the condition it was when shipped. So it's best to backup your contacts or such. Usually this does not effect the SD card, but it's always wise to back that up also.

You will lose however, any apps you downloaded.

Being a novice, is not an issue.,

But, you need to know what you are buying, before you make the purchase.

If you wanted to save a few bucks, by buying a cloned chinese tab, well, lesson learned.

Tomorrow, I'll do a little searching, and see what I can dig up on your tab. You may want to pop the battery cover off, and give any applicable numbers. Like model number, manufacturer, serial number, and FCC number.

How do I reset my android 2.2 to factory reset?

Welcome to Android Central! What device do you have? If you can access the Settings menu, there should be an option to Factory Reset there, usually under Backup & Reset, or sometimes under Security. If you're unable to get to the Settings menu, then the procedure using button presses depends on the device.

Please excuse any typos or autocorrect derps.
