Setting up internet for your home network through your cell phone

Hey guys!

I was wondering if anyone out there can help me out with the following issue since i can't find anything clear enough elsewhere online.

I have an LG Optimus (LS670ZVD ver 2.2.2) which I sometimes use to tether (USB cable) my internet connection to my laptop when I'm away from home with no problem.

At home, I have an ActionTec Q1000 router (which i use for my home network) and would like to know how, if even possible, to connect my phone's usb cable to the back of my modem (USB Port) so my home network uses my cell phone data connection instead of my DSL connection. I'd like to add that my phone is rooted in case this is even relevant to this situation.

I use Sprint for my cell phone service. I heard someone saying that he had his home network setup similarly with AT&T using his Iphone (His entire home network even the Xbox connnected). He mentioned something about using an IPSec VPN connection I think but I'm not sure how it was set up. I would like to do the same.
