If true and I have my doubts..... I'm not sure how this would track rooted users..... wouldn't it be ALL users..... After Apple got busted for this why would anyone else try it. I submitted data to University of Cambridge through Device Analyzer.... expect it would use a lot of CPU cycles.... I can't see something like that getting past most rooted users. Doesn't matter how they catch it through monitoring: data use, battery use-age, and/or lowered performance. I haven't rooted yet, but Synergy has been on the top of my short list (down loaded the last 4-5 major releases). Not because of scare tactics, but because of the ROM's merits..... I hope of ROM devs look into these claims.
