Front Camera does not work

Hey everyone, I've had a Droid 3 for about two years and it's always worked alright. However, just recently I noticed that when using the camera, if I ever choose the direction in which the camera is shooting (for instance, if im holding the camera I can take a picture of what is in front of me like the beach, but I cannot take a picture of say, myself), then I have the message "camera is unable to initialize". I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about. It's basically when you hold the camera in front of you but you cannot the vision of the camera, either something in front of you, or what is looking into the camera. I've tried taking out the battery and clearing the data but for some reason, I cannot change the viewpoint of the camera--when I change it so for instance I'd be taking a picture of myself it just stops working.

Try doing a factory reset or flashing another rom. Usually fixes most problems.
