Default Will android always have a wide variety of phones?

I am just wondering if you think that android will always have a wide variety of different phones, such as phones with removable batteries, micro sd slot, led camera flash, a notification led light. things like that.

Sure. OEM's will always try to have a few different models and key features to suit everyone's needs..

    Probably.

Only way this changes is if Google closes Android.

I assume no more new Android software releases, just updates from the carriers or manufacturers themselves.

Closing Android source would not mean manufactures would stop making variority of phones
