Why does mali 400mp get extremely poor triangle test scores?
You look at the galaxy s3 and galaxy s2 or any device running with the mali 400mp you will find benchmarks like glbenchmark always show these devices with shocking triangular test scores. The same with smartbench the mali comes out on bottom.
It has a high gpu clock speed, not forgetting the 4 cores and still manages lower than one of the poor power vr chips in the ipad 2. Is it down to architecture? Someone please tell me!
Also I know that benchmarks dont mean anything but come on? This is a matter that is quite bad!

Didn't we already discuss this in more than one thread? Anybody that's played games on the S3 or Note 2 haven't complained.

Yeah I know but if games use a higha amount of triangle texture then the s3 is going to struggle

Does what? Drops frames and gets choppy? I bet that would happen on almost any device. I've played it on the Nexus 7 and noticed this (and it's optimized for Tegra).

What WON'T it run? Also, you have to remember that 90% of the people that buy a phone don't do heavy gaming on it, so really all the manufacturer needs to target is a smooth UI experience.

True, but in a year when it comes to gaming, the s3 will be poor, I think the s2 will be better because the gpu hasnt got to push as many pixels as what the s3 has to

Yeah it is but om some gl benchmarks you find that the s2 can sometimes be ahead, not sure if it matters too much
