AOL email no longer syncing or fetching email?

I have Verizon note 2 and my AOL acct isn't working its working fine on my computer as well as my iPod touch I've turned my phone on and off multiple times cleared the cache deleted the email and recreated it and nothing has changed anybody else having this problem it's really frustrating since this is my default mail client

I have AT&T and a Samsung Infuse 4G phone and my AOL email is no longer working like it was before. I am still able to receive emails, but my attempts at sending emails are met with error messages saying "network connection error" and the emails sit in the "outbox" folder. When I click the "send messages" button again while viewing this folder I get a prompt that says "sending messages", but it doesn't and again I get a "connections error" message. Hope someone can help!

I don't even get that I sign in, in the standard email app and there are no emails showing old/new/saved/flagged nothing my yahoo acct which is setup with in the same app is working fine

Update...my problem is now fixed! I deleted my AOL account off my phone, powered the phone off for 15 seconds and then set up my AOL account anew after turning my phone back on. The problem is now fixed and obviously somehow the original set up got corrupted. Those with similar problems may want to try this same remedy as it worked for me. Good luck!

I'm having the same problem with my Galaxy S3. I tried deleting and re-adding my AOL accounts. I can send e-mail but still not receiving. Anyone have any other suggestions?

I contacted Verizon, and there is a known problem with AOL messages on Androids. When you re-add the account, do not add it as an AOL account. Choose "other" as the type of e-mail account.

WOW... thanks for the tip! I deleted and reattached the AOL account to no luck!
But then as you stated I reattached it as "Other" and it worked fine..

This issue has made both me and my wife nuts ! Verizon Technical Assistance (angel named Angela) in AZ fixed it. It requires setting up the email account under OTHER ACCOUNTS and some port and security changes to the default email account settings. It now seems to work fine ! All other suggestions on this thread either didn't work or blew out the password in a day or so. Good Luck and call for technical assistance.

Found by chance that AOL, without telling me, had blocked access to my account because of some suspct activity. They wanted me change my AOL password. I did. Tried again to add the email acc on my Samsung S5 with the new password and it now works again. Hope this helps others.

JD914, simple. Some of us long time internet users have our email addresses linked to so many sites that changing email addresses would be a nightmare.

My emails are no longer fetching...I have Sprint/S7. Any suggestions other than deleting aol off my phone and adding it back on...not very tech savvy here
