What is with Sony Phones in the US

Why don't US carriers carry a larger selection of Sony phones? I for one would love an Xperia Z1. The C6906 variant of the Z1 that Bell Canada carries even has all of AT&T's LTE bands. That model isn't even available unlocked in the US. Any thoughts on why Sony won't sell that phone direct in the US (they sell a HSPA+ only Z1 in the US) or why AT&T or T-Mobile doesn't pick it up. TMO even caries the older Xperia Z, but not the Z1.

That's a good question indeed. I like the Sony devices but they're hard to get a hold of.
