Default Any VPN users out there?

The amount of data being collected from us by not just our telecoms and ISP but government too is getting downright ridiculous now so I'm seriously considering getting a $5/month VPN subscription but I'm not 100% sure which to get. I've heard good things about ProXPN. Anyone else using one with any recommendations? Looking for one that will cover both my home PC as well as mobile devices.
The complacency about security among android users is disturbing.

If everything you're doing is legal I don't see it will change anything. Even VPN providers have to follow the law and comply with warrants, and I would guess the system and algorithm for tracking individual is more robust than just base on ip addresses. Not to mention logging into Google accounts while in your VPN wouldn't hide from them. Besides when you pay you have to use your credit car or accounts related to you.

If you just want to remain anonymous then VPN alone isn't enough, I would start with never posting anything online ever. And not draw attention to yourself by revealing you're looking for VPN.

Although if you have practical reasons for it (for example, if you're a well known governor and looking to pay for expensive intimate services using tax payers money), then you can check out AceVPN.

There's other benefits I had in mind as well. They allow you to bypass region locking for things like Netflix channel selection, and prevent your ISP from snooping your website destinations. I'm not sure why you're bringing up illegality or governor indiscretions unless you're just trying to be humorous?

Choose a VPN provider based outside USA or Europe for more privacy also check their terms of service for logging policy. You can check Switchvpn they are only 4usd/month using coupon vpn20

I'm assuming your sole purpose is to be anonymous. Although you can do other stuff with a VPN as well, for explanation purposes, anonymity is going to be the main subject. First, the myth that you shouldn't use a provider in the U.S is stupid. The U.S has no data retention laws. It's the companies that choose to watch everything you do. You can get a provider anywhere and still get knocked at. The risk is the same everywhere. The main thing you should look for is NO LOGS. If a VPN provider says they keep logs, trash it. Even if a VPN provider says they do not log, research the company first. It is also nice to look at what type of encryption they use. They should have AES 128 bit encryption at the very minimum. Also look for server locations if you want to bypass country blocks. That being said, I will recommend the following because I've used them before.

this is my current one and by far the best out of anyone I've used.

It's super easy to use and if you want to pay anonymously, they even let you pay with gift cards. I paid with a Starbucks gift card lol. The client also has a kill switch. When it detects that you aren't connected to your VPN, it will kill all unencrypted connections to prevent your ip from leaking.

they have a lot of plans and offer the same level of protection as privateinternetaccess. The only reason this is second, is because privateinternetaccess has better prices.

Those are the main two you should check out. But remember, if you aren't doing anything wrong, a VPN seems to be only if you're paranoid.
