Well much has to be said aboot rooting and flashing roms. There are many plus points and yes a few niggles in respect to bricking although if you follow instructions it narrows the risk.
The many benefits eg being able to change the status bar and the pull down notification area. There are other things that are great you can install a custom kernel and overclock but that comes and to be treated with extreme cation.
There is alot you can do and it's something that I would recommend as in particular with the note 3 there are two apps pen manager that allows you to place any of your apps into the pen window great feature the other is your multi-window which also allows this.
So this then brings that great multitasking feature the S-Pen to life and that is not possible without root and rom. So we'll done to whatever Dev as that provides that extra functionality.
