2013 Nexus 7. Fast and powerful, the most versatile size, first for updates, clean Nexus experience that can be modified any way you want.

    +1 for the 2013 Nexus 7.
Best specs + OS combination. It's a shame with that Amazon OS for the Kindle HDX

There is a new crop of Samsungs coming out. But not on the market yet. I would say Start looking at Nexus (or Nexi??) devices. Lighter, and do get updates fast.

Devices: Current: Nexus 5, Moto X, Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0); Retired: Galaxy S2 (Epic 4G Touch); Traded: Galaxy S3

I don't have any of the latest tablets, but can also agree that the Nexus 7 is great. If you are in the market for one and one a budget, that should be on your list of devices to consider.

On the market right now, I would say the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014.

Upcoming, I would say the Lenovo Thinkvision 28.

I don't know if there's a "best" Android tablet. I absolutely love my LG G Pad running 4.4. Its the best tablet for my needs. I really like the Nexus 7, but the 7" screen was just too small. I really like the Note 8 and 10.1 but I just absolutely hate the physical button instead of the on screen buttons. So I'd say there are some excellent devices but only you can determine which is best.

    2013 nexus 7 No Contest.

Fast CPU, awesome display, Vanilla Android. The only thing it lacks is SD expansion, but in every other way, it is the best of the best.

Samsung galaxy tab 3 8.0 is great for its price! Don't buy the 7.0, it is bad.
