Default using prepaid android phone for wifi only?

Hello, if I bought a prepaid android phone like this: Amazon.com: Samsung Galaxy Rush Prepaid Android Phone (Boost Mobile): Electronics

would I be able to turn the phone on and just use the wifi instead of having to pay for a plan?

    Thanks

I agree. You'll need a Voip service to do so. There are a few out there you may like. Let us know if you have further questions.

That would be necessary if he's doing voice calls right? He didn't mention the exact reason but I'm guessing it's for browsing/gaming
