    Default Searching is key!

It be nice if New users to the forums Before posting a question, use the forum search feature to determine whether their topic ( question ) has already been covered.

What are you thoughts? It really would cut down on the same questions posted here over and over

Nice, sure but a lot of times new members have phone issues that they've been searching the www for answers to. There search has lead here to the AC.

The team here of moderators, ambassadors and fellow members try and do what we can to help when we can even if the info may be buried here in the forums

I think it's a good idea. A lot of questions are asked regarding issues that have already been addressed in several threads.

I agree, but we'd need to have something in place that let users know that their topic might have already been covered. And not many people read forum rules before posting.

I have no problems with members who ask a question that may have been asked before. The AC website search function actually isn't the best--I've tried searching for various issues without getting great results. Google searches are a little better, but sometimes the sheer volume of sort-of-but-not-quite-the-same issues can be overwhelming. So I would tell members to simply go ahead and ask the question. If it's been answered before, then I or anyone else can simply direct the member to that thread. It's also why we write our Guides.
