    Default New Swiftkey is Fantabulous...

Why are Google and Apple not copying THIS and using it as their default keyboards? It's better than either of them.

Now that it's free it will own the world. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...htype.swiftkey - The Nickel theme is just awesome...exactly what I have always wanted the keyboard to look like.

Only downside is that this might destroy any competition. It is that good.

It's always been fabulous. I've been wishing for years that Apple would just buy Swiftkey.

Why buy them? I'd rather they stay by themselves... That's how they got to where they are .

Plus Apple literally just announced 3rd party keyboards.... So you were wishing it before the OS even allowed this? Lol.

The new SwiftKey update has got me to convert back to SwiftKey from Google Keyboard. I have been waiting on this update for a while.

I've always liked Swiftkey and it's been my favorite keyboard for a while. Now it's even better and the free premium theme pack is pretty nice.

I think they've finally gotten the responsiveness of the keyboard when swiping to be better than that of Swype.

How are you guys getting it to stop repeatedly asking you to choose your keyboard after you've chosen swiftkey?

I redownloaded it, went through the steps, started using it as my keyboard, then at some point later in the day the little keyboard icon shows up in the nav/notification bar asking me to choose a keyboard. ? what up.

That's normal. It is just so you can switch keyboards easily.(it is an android feature, so no matter what keyboards you have it will still do that.)

I have been using this keyboard since I went android, and have been using the beta exclusively for the past few months. This update has made the keys seem even more responsive! So far I love it

Lol, they just announced third party keyboards a week ago. I've been wishing Apple would by Swiftkey for years. Obviously now that doesn't matter. I wished Apple would buy them to make because I jealously wanted Swiftkey exclusively for my iPhone.

But now I can have it on both!

Swiftkey is the best. I have tried a number of other keyboards but always go back to SwiftKey. Got it free from amazon a few years ago and have been using it ever since

Are there any naysayers? I have never seen such a lovefest on an Internet forum before. I am using it right now for the first time. I personally must be the of person in the world who likes the stock Samsung keyboard. The way they space the letters helps me type more accurately.

I am finding that as I type this using SwiftKey that the larger keys help me type much faster and I'm not noticing any typing mistakes to go back and correct.
I don't like the warning it gave basically telling me that SwiftKey is logging everything I type including credit card numbers. Maybe this is why it's free now. All these phones and tablets do nowadays is collect personal data.

I wouldn't call myself a naysayer, but I keep trying SwiftKey and always end up going back to Swype. The gesture typing just seems a lot smoother to me.

SwiftKey's number row is nice though, and the new minimalist themes are gorgeous. But they're a lot less functional since they don't have the secondary characters displayed. Do they plan on updating existing themes to add that sort of thing? Or will they put it in a new theme and try to make everyone buy it again?

All keyboards need that permission. Unless you use a physical keyboard that is.

same here, something about the layout of sk just isn't working for me. It's a bummer cuz i love their prediction. So i end up back with the google keyboard.

This. They have to have this permission since they are the main input on everything.. So It can see everything. I've used SwiftKey for years without issue.
