Been playing with the Hangouts/Voice integration for a couple of days. I'm on Sprint and have my GV # integrated to my Sprint #.
Here's my biggest issue so far:
When just sending a text, Hangouts sends from my GV# by default, which works fine.
When sending group messages, Hangouts defaults to MMS and everything, including pictures, work fine. BUT, when sending just a photo, Hangouts defaults to sending it via GV, which means it comes though to the recipient as a link, rather than an in-line photo, which is lame.
I can go into settings and select "send SMS via Sprint number," which then sends photos via MMS, but then every SMS I send gets sent from both my Sprint # and my GV#, which means there are two copies of the outgoing text in my conversation thread. Plus, it's a pain in the *** to have to monkey with the settings when switching between text and picture.
It is my sincere hope that our good friends at Google will make it possible to send pictures by MMS by default, just like group messages.
