I'm actually a little surprised by this news. This consortium consisted of Apple and Microsoft, among others, and it seemed to operate as no more than a patent troll. How much did this cost them? They paid $4.5 billion for the patents, spent years funding court battles, and then end up selling the patents for < $1 billion. I have to wonder how this will affect Google & Android going forward.

This whole movement was a total dumpster fire to begin with... I hope it dies a quick death.
