I am wondering - when you factory reset your device, does this also wipe the cache partition or you have to do it seperately ? Thank you.

Yes it does.
But I have wiped the cache separate,, or before I have performed the factory reset too.So I have done it both ways.
I usually perform these while in stock recovery, btw

To elaborate on a cache clear, sometimes, just clearing the cache in recovery can help with device software issues. It's often one of my go to replies for trying to fix a problem. Why it often works it this: Clearing the cache sometimes gets rid of junk files that can cause problems. Between that and the 2 reboots (1 to recovery and 1 back to Android) can clear most issues most of the time.
