I usually keep my older phones, just in case. I still have Nokia C2-03 with me. My last phone was Micromax Canvas 4 and current is Nexus 5.

As a game developer, I'm using my old phones + the old phones my friends give me
to test my games on.
I currently got 6 phones laying around.
And getting another one soon from my father when he gets his new phone.

I usually give my wife my old phone since she doesn`t care much about phones and I keep them in good shape.

Save them for testing my games. I have one 4 years old htc for example and i try to get at least 30 fps on it as a optimization criteria

I have a feature phone (old Nokia) in case of emergency (the battery lasts a week , but every smartphone I sell it to buy a new one.

I usually sell them on gazelle. Com but I have the nexus 6 now and possible getting the next nexus in February so I will keep my nexus 6 2014 as a backup...
