Default What's your favorite Android UI?

I like vanilla the best. It's just clean without any skins that could potentially slow the device down. I've owned a Droid X since release day and after installing a vanilla rom on it, I noticed how much faster and responsive it became.

I'll take a stock Android phone over anything from HTC, Samsung or Motorola any day.

Sense is the only one I've used, so it must be my favorite! Definitely looks better to me than Motoblur or Touchwiz, I'm not feeling any lack of responsiveness now so no particular reason to go generic yet. Maybe when my phone is older and software is more demanding!

I prefer stock because it has a nice clean look and usually gets updated faster.

Oops! My bad... That's what I get for not rooting my phone. I misread the part that Chris said over HTC. Lol.

After using HTC Sense, especially on the latest version on the Desire Z or HD, stock Android, and yes, I got a Gingerbread phone, feels outright "nekkid".

Vanilla for me, but if I had to choose a manufacture's UI, I'd say Sense.

Is it possible to load another UI on a device that has, say, touchwiz?

I have a Vibrant and i'd like to know if i can change it to one of the other ones, if thats even an option.

Or is it really dependent on the handset and/or hardware?
Make sure to thank anyone who provides you some help or clarification on here.

You could always load up a custom ROM and theme it.

This is true, i have not rooted my phone as of yet, however i am seriously considering it. Im pretty confident in the process, but i just dont have steady access to a computer in case something goes wrong. As soon as i get some new hardware, i will probably end up doing that.

Sense all the way, I owned a Backflip (Now on a Desire) and MotoBlur on 1.5 is ugly.

I rather have MotoBlur (the new versions in the Defy , MileStone 2 , Atrix 4G & Droid Bionic are looking good) or Sense over Vanilla or TouchWiz !
I don't like how Vanilla Android looks (Thank god for ADWlauncher)
TouchWiz looks like a fake iPhone\iPhone knock-off to me & I rather have an iPhone over it

You can dress up the phones for free. It won't change the OS, just the UI.

There is a free Gingerbread them UI you can find at the Android Market and download for free.

To make it even more complete, there is also the original Gingerbread keyboard from the Nexus S that was also uploaded to the Android Market, and you can download it and use on the Vibrant for free.

There is a chance you may need Froyo for them to run, so upgrade the Vibrant first. The Froyo update for the Vibrant is already in effect.

The UI theme change won't change two things from the Vibrant, which is the lockscreen and notification bar. These are however, the better parts of the Touchwiz and I like them better than the stock lockscreen and notification bar.

Well I think when you buy a phone you should have the option of Vanilla or Blurred. If you buy a HTC Phone you should have the option of vanilla or sensed. Some people do like the HTC Sense.

I would love to see this as well. Unfortunately, I don't think our wishes will ever be granted.

HTC used to do that, in the Android 1.5 HTC Hero and Droid Eris. Option removed when they upgraded to 2.1.
