Buy Nexus 6p or wait?

The Nexus 6p is on sale for $399, and I'm very interested in getting one. It will last me the next two and a half years (I'll get the 2017 Nexus in 2018). My only concern is that the price will drop even more come November and the release of the next Nexus, or that one of the next Nexus phones will be at a moderately low price ($399 or so).

What would you all recommend? Waiting for a November sale, waiting to see the prices of the next Nexus phones, or just getting the 6p for $399 now?

I doubt you'll see it go below $399 for quite some time, and when it does it'll be from Amazon when they're clearing stock. I'd buy it if you're sure this is the phone you want.

I think it can go down more. If I was you, it depends on the condition of my current phone. Is your phone ready to break down, and/or are you tired of it? If so, just buy the 6p but I'm sure that you can find deals (just look in the usual places and more, Google is nice if it works for you) If not, you should wait.

Do you think either of the next Nexus models will be priced around $399. I'm wondering if they'll have a Nexus 5x version but improved over last year.

I'm expecting the Sailfish, a 5.0" or 5.25" Nexus to be between $299 and 399. It's got a Snapdragon 820, 4 GB RAM, 1080p screen, great specs, just smaller than the other one, which is 5.5" and I'm expecting it to be $499-500 .

If that's the case, I may just wait for the new round of Nexus devices.

I'm all about economizing, so if you feel like waiting is the best route, go for it! The 6P will certainly drop in price once its newest generational counterpart is released.

However, I also understand the upgrading itch and the lure of the 6P... If you know it will last you until the 2017 Nexus, and you'll have it for a few years, and you know it's the right decision based on your needs, don't feel guilty if you go out and grab it tomorrow. :)

Good luck, and let us know what you decide!

The 6P is a brilliant phone especially at that price. Go for it. Waiting the extra 2-3 months for a small price drop may not be as worth it as the pleasure of a brand new phone in your hands right away :)
