AT&T Tethering

I have an iPhone 4 ( I know but I'm going Android soon) And I got an E-mail saying if I keep tethering they will change my plan. My questions are 1st are they only doing this to iPhone customers or are there Android users going through this to cause from what I read I've only seen iPhone users. 2nd if they are going after android users to Should I go to Verizon or Sprint and if so which phone is the one I should go with. I've had my eye on the Thunderbolt but I'd like some advice.

From what i've read this behavior will not be restricted to only AT&T and it will most likely start happening to every smart phone user that is rooted and is using an excessive amount of data, so no matter where you go the carriers will be watching.

I haven't heard of any Android users getting the email. I think they're using iPhone specific data (at least I hope).

If they do start cracking down regardless of platform, then you're going to start running into the same problem with every carrier.
