The limitations of chrome os don't bother me nearly so much as the battery life. I will wait for new silicon but I have no doubt a Chromebook will make perfect sense for me to own.

Not surprised the battery is weak given the power behind the display. I find that something of a non-issue though. Maybe it's because I still see 3-4 hours of battery life as a luxury...I remember spending an extra $150 on an extended battery for a laptop just so I could push three hours out of it. I get nervous carrying real expensive electronics around so if I had the Pixel it would probably stay home a lot.

Now with my Samsung ARM, I'd be really mad if it got stolen but at least I could easily replace it. And it has great battery life.

There's a guy with a new MBA and a Pixel over on G+ Chromebook community that has to charge his MBA before lunch and his Pixel lasts all day. I would be fine with that. I don't need any longer battery life than that.

Most people don't. I don't think the Pixel has any serious hardware limitations. Software readiness is more of a problem for most people, ignoring the price.

Hmmm, I have a hard time believing that.
MacBook Airs get insanely good battery life.

I love my MBA but its battery life does suck. Even with the SSD.

Well at least my MBP doesn't have issues, typically get 6-7 hours on screen(more with lower brightness setting

I'd get a new MBP if those numbers were true with my usage, but streaming music in the background while powering a dedicated video card, quad core i7, 15 inch screen, backlit keyboard and 5+ internet tabs open, I wouldn't see any more than 5 hours lol. I can get about 3-4 hours out of my 4.5 year old MBP that was custom built top of the line when I purchased it brand new from Apple.

That's strange, do you have an SSD? They help a lot

I don't, but at this point I'd rather invest in my desktop and funds for a higher end Chromebook.

I think that the price of the Pixel is outrageous. I have the Acer C720 and bought it for $200. I know it isn't specd like the Pixel, but it is plenty fast and meets all of my needs. No complaints here.

I just received mine yesterday. It is without a doubt the nicest web browsing experience on the market. I am heavily invested in the cloud and it meets all my needs. I freaking love this thing. If you are hesitant, don't be. They fixed all my complaints about the first pixel including battery and heating issues. Not to mention USB-C

I sold an LTE Pixel and picked up the LS. It's a nice upgrade to the OG Pixel..

I just received mine today and am impressed so far. Windows 10 has a lot of potential but in the end drove me nuts with stutters and freeze ups doing basic tasks. The cloud aspect may take some getting used to but there isn't much I do outside of Google services anyway.

Any advice for a new Pixel owner?
