Does anyone have Chromecast working on a Cisco Aironet 1140 AP? I have the AP setup to run both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz radio, each having WPA2 AES encryption on. The device can see the network, but will not connect. Just curious if anyone has found a setting that caused issues. I will be attempting to turn off encryption when I get home from work, but figured it was worth throwing it out there.

Update: I upgraded from 12.4 to 15.2 IOS on the AP and my issue is corrected. Issue resolved!

I had the same problem with a 1230 AP, I upgraded to the latest code and it worked. Before the upgrade I added the command "no dot11 igmp snooping-helper", not sure that is needed or not.

I went from version "c1200-k9w7-tar.123-8.JEB1.tar" to version "c1200-k9w7-tar.123-8.JEE.tar".

After using it for 30 seconds, it looks awesome, hopefully it will be great.

Good luck!

Hi there, I'm just wondering what else you have done to get your Chromecast working with your aironet 1140 I'm trying on both a Cisco 887VA-W & a Aironet 1131 but haven't got beyond the wireless connection. It detects the SSID but fails to connect against it.

I'm running IOS 15.2 on the Router & the AP so the version doesn't seem to be at fault.

I've also tried 'no dot11 igmp snooping-helper' & allowing access to Google DNS & ntp servers as I've read elsewhere but still no success.

My SSID Config is below

dot11 ssid ##########
vlan 1
authentication open
authentication key-management wpa
mbssid guest-mode
wpa-psk ascii 0 #########

interface Dot11Radio0
no ip address
no ip route-cache
encryption vlan 2 mode ciphers aes-ccm tkip
encryption vlan 1 mode ciphers aes-ccm tkip
broadcast-key vlan 2 change 3600 membership-termination
broadcast-key vlan 1 change 3600
ssid ############

interface Dot11Radio0.1
encapsulation dot1Q 1 native
no ip route-cache
no cdp enable
bridge-group 1
bridge-group 1 subscriber-loop-control
bridge-group 1 block-unknown-source
no bridge-group 1 source-learning
no bridge-group 1 unicast-flooding
bridge-group 1 spanning-disabled

I've cut out a few things from that to shorten it somewhat

i have a Cisco 1131 AG access point and was having the same problems. found this on Cisco support forums: https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2230888 where it was recommended to add to your config:
no ip igmp snooping
no dot11 igmp snooping-helper

i had the "no dot11 igmp snooping-helper from this thred and as soon as i added "no ip igmp snooping" it worked.

give it a try.

Hi everyone, I am using a Cisco ASA 5505 9.1.2 and a Cisco Aironet 1232AG running 12.3.8-JEE and I've tried multicast, no multicast, igmp, no igmp. It just doesn't want to connect. MY TV is a Samsung LN46C670M1FXZA version AA02. I have the chromecast plugged into HDMI 4 and the USB port plugged into the port that says USB HDD.

Had problems connecting with a Time Warner Arris modem. Works like a charm after changing the broadcast channel on the modem to 6.
