Cannot find Chromecast from my Chrome browsr.

My PC, running Chrome, is on an inside network. My wifi is the DSL modem. In between is a Linux server. When I start Chrome and press the Google Cast button, I get a message stating that it cannot find any Chromecast device. I suspect that this is correct becuase of my network setup. Since Chome dows not run on Linux, does anyone see any hope for me to try out the tab casting feature of my Chromecast.

I have 3 computers on my home network, only 1 of which could find the Chromecast via the Chrome browser.
