The option to cast the screen is in the settings. Click the tab in the top left in the cc app.

Edit: OK I see your images now. You did click in the top left. Option is not available for some reason? I don't know. Maybe try clearing the cache in the play services app and/or the Chromecast app?

Thanks

Tried the cache and reboot of both phone and chrome cast.. No luck. Looks like all versions are in tolerances but anyhow; I'll be curious if anyone else with a moto x posts their own experience. I might try to reset the Google play cache when I get home later. Thanks for the reply!

They showed a slide at I/O with a list of devices that would get mirroring first, mostly nexus devices. The M8 wasn't on there.

Oddly the M7 was if I recall correctly.

Not all devices are supported. Look for the article on here for the last of supported devices.

As others have said it is mostly nexus devices along with a handful of other devices. But mostly nexus devices. It world's fine on the Note 3

I am unsure what about the M8 prevents the Chromecast from mirroring its screen.

Obviously, Google and HTC must know and maybe it is just not a priority right now to come up with a fix or less likely it is unable to be fixed.

Either way it is a bummer.
