When did you guys send in the request?? The ones that barely got it.

- I don't know who u are, I don't know what u want. If u are looking for a ransom, I can tell u I don't have money, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills that I have acquired over the course of watching Chuck Norris in Walker, Texas Ranger, skills that make me a nightmare for people like u.

Well, I had a few submissions. The first one I did was using the long form. I submitted that one within an hour of the pilot program announcement. The second submission was a weekish later, after I found out there was a short form with a QR reference. And the third time was about 2 weeks after the announcement when I had the link show up in my chrome browser asking if I wanted to apply.
I think the first submission did it for me based on the fact that under my name in on the shipping label it said "Individual". That is the type I submitted the long form under. Both of the other short forms did not have this designation. - 01-29-2011, 07:15 PM #205
I sent in a request like a week ago, no emails or anything...

Nope, nothing, not even an e-mail. I would like to compare Chrome OS and Windows OS. I know it's still in testing and all that stuff but would be interesting to see how it works.

There's no comparing. The only test would be...Cold boot to OS...open web browser...check email...facebook...whatever...turn off. I can literally do all of that in around 30 seconds. If it's just turn it on...check one thing online. About 20 seconds from pushing power button to closing lid after viewing.
Since this netbook can't really "run" anything it's ONLY for web stuff and it's hands down the fastest thing you've ever seen from powered off to online. Just got mine today and have been messing with it for hours now. - 02-01-2011, 04:44 PM #209
Well that is the thing. I want to get a netbook strictly for internet and nothing else so this suits me just fine.
My options are, wait for Chrome to release a public netbook, get a cheap netbook and install linux or get a cheap netbook and leave it with windows. Seems like the Chrome OS is built around the their browser and I can only imagine it does that very well.-Droid RAZR MAXX (Artic 2.2)

Yep I just got mine a week ago too, and I signed up the week it was announced also. I've found that I use it a lot more than my windows machine because most of what I do is web browsing anyway. I only need to use my windows machine for managing my Zune and editing photos/videos.

I'm an NVIDIA Tegra Champ. Here's what that means. It means that from time to time I might receive products and/or services from NVIDIA to evaluate them and provide feedback to NVIDIA and you, our valuable members. What this does NOT mean is that my opinion will be biased. Any opinion that I express here and elsewhere are solely based on my personal preference and any relevant expertise that I may/may not have on the subject matter. - 02-03-2011, 03:10 PM #212
I mainly use the internet and mainly a few websites. I'd figure a netbook was a way to go and was looking at the ASUS eepc netbooks.

My CR-48 showed up this past Monday. I really like it. The hardware is nice and battery life is fantastic. ChromeOS is somewhat limited and some definite bugs that I've encountered but I am enjoying it.

Shocked - Just received a CR48
I came home from work to find an unexpected package in the door. I had completely forgotten and given up hope of getting one. Unfortunately, I have to head out of town for the weekend. But you can believe this thing is coming with me. Don't give up hope, yours might come at any point.

Bugs are expected with Chrome OS or anything that is being tested.

I actually like finding bugs (these are basically the Nexus versions of Chrome OS) to help improve the experience. Plus the laptop itself looks awesome. 90% of what I do is web browsing so for someone like me it works well.

I like finding bugs on a system that is not out to the public but hate finding bugs on a system for the public.

UPS tried delivery of my CR48 Friday and I wasn't home; I was like "wtf? Who's sending me a package? I didn't order anything!"
I picked it up today during lunch and was pleasantly surprised!Sweet Nexus Bliss. - 02-07-2011, 09:05 PM #219

I had an unexpected surprise sitting on my door step when I got home. I'm glad I don't have to worry too much about theft at my apartment complex since it was just sitting at the door all afternoon.

Got one myself as a complete surprise yesterday. No confirmation email or anything. It actually showed up on the 3rd but my building is beyond horrible with mail and packages. Played with it a little too much yesterday... looks awesome thus far.

Same for me too. I filled it out the day it was announced and received it on the 29th of Jan. I dont think they are going by date and time of filling out the form. If they were, I'm sure I would have received mine in December. My guess is they are arbitrarily selecting people, but that is just a guess.

That and the answers to the questions on the sign up page.
I use it as my primary Internet browsing machine. I'm on it at least 4 hours a day. Actual use not just sitting doing nothing.
I think those things make a big difference.
