quick question--
just purchased my GSM Nexus on Saturday (finally!) and my T-MO SIM this afternoon & awaiting shipment/arrival of both,

but i'm wondering if there is any promotional credit on the Google Wallet app (say, $10) that was at one point showing on Nexus orders a while back.

anyone recently bought a GSM version from the PlayStore & able to confirm/deny the presence of a Google Wallet Credit (and for how much)?

thanks in advance

i have yet to use the google wallet and not blow everyone in a 10 foot radius mind...its lightning fast to pay for stuff and just so epic..already see myself buying things i dont need to use it more often

yeah it's $10 but that's $10 more than i have at the moment, without the phone.

we used the NFC credit @ McDonalds down the road a few nights ago on my brothers Verizon G-Nex and they were all wide-eyed at it. they'd never seen anyone pay by tapping their phone against the unit.

even if i never use it, or don't use it immediately, it's still a good gesture on Google's part to include some incentive for Wallet users.

I got the same reaction when I did that at McDonalds as well. I even had to hold back my reaction out of fear of looking like a dork. But it was legendary.

lollll i went through the same thing tried to play it off cool with even how amazed i was..only used it 3 times and got multiple comments on it each time

So how do you fund this thing? It appears that you can only use a Citi Mastercard ( which I don't have nor want ), a Google Prepaid card or some other gift card.
If I want to use this at participating retailers, do I have to purchase a Google Prepaid card for myself?

quick question for you guys, i tried to look like a bad *** the other day using my g wallet for the first time. It was all going well until the question "debit, credit, gift card" came up on the machine. I was using the pre paid card and didnt know which to push so i selected credit, and it ended up not accepting my card, and the store clerk who thought i was a bad mutha suddenly thought i was an idiot with a denied card. Should i hit debit, or gift card?

I was at a local Braums fast food restaurant, my transaction was only 4 dollars and i had 10 dollars that i got free.

On another note i was glad to see google wallet was updated today and now allows visa to be added.

The lastest version now allows credit and debit cards of any kind. Also, if you read the help file, it suggests that you select 'pay with credit'

I've had 6 GNex for various reasons spanning from ending up in a pint of beer to the losing signal issue. I've gotten the $10 credit each time I've installed on each new phone. Pretty sweet that Google has been kind enough to buy me $60 worth of gas this year. It seems that each credit is tied to the IMEI number of the phone and not your Google account. The "wow" factor of paying with your phone is awesome!

Never used Wallet before and had $15 credit. My refurbished Nexus was not linked of course to my old defective one and the Google Wallet account on there so had to spend 20 minutes on the phone with Money Network to have them link my balance from my old account to my new one. Not difficult, although they did need to verify my identity, but hey $15 free to test out before I use my credit cards :D

This. I remember the first time I used it was in a gas station--the cashier's jaw dropped. "Wha...wha just happened?," she asked.

"Magic," said I.

Went to CVS after work to see if that 10 bucks worked. The cashier and myself were stoked at the ease of my purchase of a six pack of beer. Rooted and running Liquid Smooth JB. :)
