4.1.2 for takju galaxy nexus now live.

has there ever been a good reason given for this staggered update bull ? im so sick of it. i know this isnt a phone, but when microsoft updates the dashboard, i turn my xbox on and the update downloads right then and there, its pretty freakin simple

And many times when Microsoft does this their servers get overloaded and I wait forever for the downloads. I think a reasonably staggered OTA update makes sense.

google isnt that starved for bandwidth and i think there might be a few more xboxes than there are galaxy nexii

I cleared Google Services Framework five times and couldn't force the update.

Just tried now again still nuthin. This is getting frustrating. I could root and do a factory install if i wanted. I don't, not that I couldn't, it is just so much a pain in the arse to do this. I like I believe many here have way to many apps to reinstall all over again. Google get that OTA OUT NOW!!!

You don't have to root to manually apply an update or flash factory images. You only need an unlocked bootloader. If you've already unlocked the bootloader, you won't lose any data or apps installing the factory update.

Its certainly frustrating that the OTA rolls out slowly, but 4.1.2 is nothing to write home about...

Yes you are right about that. I was thinking of when I went from Yaku to Takju. Still a dirty refresh has it's issues to. This time around i'm trying desperately to leave it stock. I just figured this would have been out already.

I did clear google service framework this morning and checked for update, got nothing...but i havnt cleared it since then, and its been almost 12 hours since i cleared framework but just checked now and it was available

Mine is upgrading now. I notice it says it is optimizing my apps and is counting each one as it does so. I wonder exactly what it is doing to accomplish that and if any will not work. I have about 180 apps so I won't be checking them all right away.
