AT&T Nexus One Data
Planning on getting a Nexi. Want to here from people on AT&T using a nexi.
Do you have unlimited data plan?
What is the upload/download speeds like? Are you able to stream Last FM and Pandora?
I currently have a n95 on AT&T. I began using it 3 months ago. For the first month I had 3.5g at data speeds of almost 7 mb/s, but since almost 2 months now it shows 3g and data speeds very from 19 to 48 kb/s. Do any one of you have slower data speeds in the San Francisco Bay area? - 07-19-2010, 02:26 PM #2
Download speeds are going to vary dramatically based on location.
As far as your n95, have you called AT&T to make sure they have the correct IMEI? Do you have the unlimited smartphone plan? I have read about some cases where AT&T will throttle access if they don't have the correct IMEI and/or smartphone data plan attached to the device. It could also just be the network in your area is saturated in which case you'd be out of luck.
I don't stream any radio stuff, so I can't comment. I'm not in the Bay area, either, so my speed stats won't be much help (although I am pretty satisfied with them most of the time).--

i use the unlimited 15 dollar data plan with my nexus on ATT. same plan i used when i had both my n95's. just note though that ATT has moved most nexus users onto the 30 dollar smartphone plan, even with an unlocked nexus. only a few of us left like me have not been moved. it might be if you havent upgraded with ATT in a few years then they are not targetting you. seems to be a common factor in all the people who have not been hit.
data speeds will vary, but ci get 2.5Mbps download 1.5Mbps upload usually, sometimes higher. all depends on your area. i will say that the nexus CPU and RAM is much faster than the n95's, and my n95 cpu was the bottle next for my speed tests. for example at home i have verizon FIOS, and my n95 always capped at around 5-6Mbps, never got any higher even though the connection was wide open. the nexus gets up around 14Mbps typically, sometimes higher. also the nexus supports wireless N. - 07-21-2010, 12:23 PM #4
