I'm officially pumped! If Google can sqeeze out a little more battery life with this update I'll be happy for a long time.
Multi and a little more battery life are all I really care about.
Well, that and Flash 10.1, but that leaves us with something still to look forward to.

I was not expecting Google to roll out this update so early. I was thinking at least another month if not more before it was ready.

OK, answered my own question, the update will hit unlocked devices as well. Cool.

Android 2.1-update1 undocumented changes
I just got the OTA update of Android 2.1 and was snooping around to see if I noticed any "undocumented" additions. Just noticed that there is now a "Dock" setting under the main phone settings. Has that always been there? I don't have the dock, so I don't know what the options may be.
Any one else notice any undocumented changes? - 02-02-2010, 06:41 PM #21
I don't know if we'll ever know why Google didn't support multitouch in the states. I'm betting it had something to do with trying to stay on good terms with Apple. I bet tensions may be rising between the two, or Apple felt that they didn't need the multitouch edge to stay competitive any more.
Still, we can only speculate. - 02-02-2010, 07:13 PM #22
I'll overlook 6tr6tr's inability to link to AndroidCentral's coverage the update -- he said smiling -- and instead show you that you can manually update your N1.

Forced the update and all went well. It's strange I never really use the multi touch on my iPhone but for whatever reason I'm digging it on the Nexus.
