About to purchase a Nexus 10 for work - specifically to train real estate agents on how to use an android tablet and a couple of the apps on the device, preferably to a projector. I know the Nexus 10 has a mini hdmi port, and can connect to a television for movies etc, but does it work well with an hdmi to VGA converter? Additionally, does it also share the screen or is the additional screen functionality only let you watch videos etc and not screen share (without root)? Thank you so much!

Defensively not VGA as it is analog, but it should handle connection to DVI as those 2 standard are compatible, ofcorse if you use DVI you wont have audio over it

,

So if I was able to obtain an HDMI projector, a mini hdmi to HDMI cable, plugging this in should enable full screen sharing so that I can show the 'desktop' area and go through settings etc while 'mirrored' on a projector?

Yes it should mirror the image. I did it on my Xoom so I would think it should be the same on the N10.

He said "with an hdmi to VGA converter". The answer is "yes" that it should work with one of those, but I have not tried it yet, myself (I am STILL waiting for a cable...)

Hdmi and vga is incompatible or else you use reciver on the middle its like compiring analog minijack cable to digital optical cable

I used the HDMI out with a projector using my Xoom and it worked well. I haven't tried it yet with the Nexus 10. Try formatting your ppt for 10 inches wide by 5.87 inches high. That's close to the 16:10 resolution of the Nexus. A tidbit I found on a forum at Powerpoint Presentations on Xoom without Format Issues - Page 2
