Will Nexus 10 purchased in the US work properly in the UK?

Hi everyone

I am thinking of getting my dad a Nexus 10 for Christmas. I live in the States, however, and he lives in the UK. Is there anything locked down to the US Play store etc, or will he be able to use the tablet just as if he bought it in the UK? I know that certain parts of Google Play are not available in the UK yet, but I just want to make sure he'll be able to use it to get movies, books etc (I think music isn't supported yet in the UK?).

I know the Kindle Fire is geographically locked, so if you buy one here it is almost useless in the UK without workarounds. I want to make sure that is not the case for the Nexus 10 - does anyone know?

I dont see a problem except for the charging. you will have to buy the removable UK plug for him to use.

some playstore movie and music contents are limited. but thats about it.

Is there some way you can access the UK specific Play store? Then you could order it from there. If you order it in the US when they ship it from here to there it may get stuck in customs and/or your dad may have to pay a tariff fee.

I'd call google and ask.
