I installed an app called "Quick office HD" and uninstalled it long time ago..... Today I just realized this app became a system app that I uninstalled! The app never appeared on the app drawer after I uninstalled it..... I never rooted my device... It just happened automatically without me knowing it..... What should I do? I disabled this for now..... Will factory reset erase this app from my system apps? Is there a way to remove this without rooting?

I don't understand your problem. Are you calling it a system app because it is showing up in the app list from settings? All running apps are in that list. Kind of like Windows Task Manager, but it doesn't mean the process running is something necessary for your computer to run.

Are you sure you didn't just delete it from your home screen, not uninstall it. Since its still there, my guess is the former. If you go to the app page in the Play Store, it will tell you if it's installed or not and give you the option to either download it or uninstall it. You can also go to My Apps in the Play Store and it will give you a list of all apps you have ever downloaded. If it has a "prohibited" symbol next to it, it isn't on your phone any more, or in your case, tablet.

Google bought Quickoffice. The system app is a basic version that android uses to display office documents and PDFs. It only has basic reed function. Without it, there is no way to view these things without downloading a stand alone app. If you have your own office viewer, you can disable Quickoffice without rooting so that it doesn't use any memory or resources. If you have any paid for Quickoffice HD, use it. It is probably the best office app on tablets.

Ah ok. So it's normal to have quickoffice.....? Then why quickoffice doesn't show in my app drawer?

How can it be disabled if it's not listed as an app (or a widget)?

Think of it as "just the reader" part of the app.

It's like Office on Windows. Every PC comes with a trail version of office so that you can open the files you need to. But, if you want to edit any of those files, you have to buy a version of Microsoft office or find an alternative. Quickoffice serves the same function on Nexus products. Some OEM have licensing deals with other products (ie, Samsung- Polaris) which is why they don't have Quickoffice as default.

Thanks -- I didn't notice "all" under "apps". Got a lot to learn about Android and the N10!
