Before when I checked my you tube installed on my Nexus 10 it looked cool having all the videos box shaped and you can scroll it sidewards like the matrix

Now its inteface went back to your average youtube after I reset my tablet

Can you guys post what your youtube lookslike

were you using a custom rom? I forget if tablet view you are talking about existed on the n10 originally, but it has since been updated to the new view that looks similar to the phone view. I assume searching for an old version of the app could get it back for you.

I miss the 3d Carousel home screen of youtube when i first opened my nexus 10 last Feb28,2013

Before it used to look like this

Sorry for my ignorance but I dont know the terms your using.. if your referring to custom rom as the default rom when i got my nexus 10 ..so yes..i wont root this..since i dont know how hahaha

also , searching for an old version of the app could get it back for you I dont get this.. .so is there an older version of youtube app you can download in google play? ..hmmm everytime i search youtube..its just the youtube app that shows..

Wouldn't be on Google play any more you would have to search for it and install manually. I assume that you just hadn't updated your apps in a while and that's why you still had the old look. Think they got rid of that view months ago.

Oddly enough...the "lame *** box type".

Notice it looks a lot like G+ app? I'm sure that's not an accident....

dont have a google + account so i dont know what it looks like...anyway ..sucks...i wanted the 3D carousel ..hay even the widget of youtube is freakishly small for a 10 inch tablet

I was under the impression that everyone with a Google account had a Google+ account...maybe not?

A little off topic but does anyone know why they changed it? When I was researching the N10 I did see this view in some of the reviews and couldn't do it when I got the tablet (not a big downside for me but wanted to play with it as I do with any new toy I get)

Don't want to change topics but do any of you Youtube App users know how to DL Youtube videos to your Nexus 10 so you can watch them while no connected via Wifi or internet? I tried searching and the only thing I came up with is catchvideo.net but it seemed shady.

well first of all Google doesn't want you downloading videos, that is why you won't find apps that do so in the PLAYstore. IMO this is a bit of a grey area because it is borderline piracy if not actual piracy. That said, Amazon doesn't care if you download Googles videos so IF you are looking for a "more trusted" place to find that kind of app I would look there.

Finally in order to balance out Universal karma you may want to consider doing the following IF you download YouTube Content to your device

let the video Play from YouTube's site/app [with the sound off] so it still registers as a view. Do this from your Tab or PC etc when it is not otherwise in use.
Leave a comment about the video on YouTube's page for the video
DELETE the videos after viewing them

I say this becuase YouTube is branching out into producing Great first run content like the Geek and Sundry Channel Programing like this needs to show views and interest to continue to be funded.

This. The carousel view was what came with the n10 out of the box running 4.2.1. They updated the youtube app and got rid of it for some reason. I loved it too and went back and uninstalled the updates but when 4.2.2 came out it seemed like i could no longer roll back the youtube app.

Sorry if I wasn't clearer. But because this could be considered piracy, and piracy [rightly] is frowned upon by android central î'm not going to go searching through other app stores to provide you a link. My concern is if you move forward on this you make sure the people who created and provided the content get appropriately compensated so that such constant continues to be available

I think Atiya was looking for a copy of the 4.2.1 version of Youtube. Regardless, I'm not sure if Android Central is cool with even posting a copy of that app. but I think the version you are looking for is 4.1.23 or 4.1.47 just do a search on google and see if that helps not sure if it can instal over the newer version or not

I was just confused at FIRST..why my cool looking 3d carousel interface in youtube changed into the box type....then someone suggested that I download the old version which i dont intend to do.
My main point was just to ask EVERYONE else what their youtube lookedlike

Oh. Well then the definitive answer is that it has been changed with the newer app version for everyone.

The piracy point I believe was for the person wanting to download videos.

I was suggesting the old app in case you wanted the old view back.

All wrapped up in guess.

It isnt, but the confusion is my fault so allow me to apologize. I was responding to DownhillNexus who was asking about how to download youtube videos for offline viewing [THAT is what might be piracy], however I neglected to quote DownhillNexus in my response.
