GEL=Google Experience Launcher. It is typical default Nexus 5 Kikkat home screen. GEL includes transparent notification and action bar. Transparent app drawer. Bigger app icons. Swype left to access Google Now. And say "Ok Google" to access Google Now from the home screen. Etc. You get the idea.

I'm an *****. Thank you. :) Didn't even occur to me that it was an acronym.

woo hoo just got it finally!! It seems to have fixed my lag! It doesnt seem to be a major update for the nexus 10, but Im still checking it out.

Im using the beta nova launcher and on a "nexus device" I still don't have the option to get transparent notification bar?? Seriously? how is that possible??

Just updated now. The look is a little different, the settings menu may not be optimized for tablet size but so far my performance is snappy so I'm happy. I do kind of miss the blue highlights.

Yup! I care to share some screenshots! :) Notice there is no GEL on default home screen... Settings App not optimized for tablet... Kinda stretched out. Full Album Artwork on the lockscreen while the music is playing! That's a big plus! Overall okish "White" theme overall. I need time to get use to white look than holo look. Again no GEL is disappointing I hope Google enables it in future KitKat update.

Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Epic upgrade fail, once again. Apple can't do much but they know how to upgrade their os, that's for sure.

I still don't have anything either, but I'm not carping. Staged rollouts happen for a reason. In case you haven't figured that out, it's because if there is a problem with the update, it only affects a smaller number of devices.

Ok, yeah, I'm gonna hate the white too. Miss the blue already. But the non-transparent notif is totally fine with me. I have that on my phone and I think it makes many icons hard to see.

Thanks for posting the shots!

You need to do a little research instead of comparing Google to Apple. Apple recently put out an update that caused issues and has since put out a least 2 patches. Google randomly releases to a very small % initially and reviews, then releases out to more and does not roll out completely until they are sure it is ready............ just in case.

I received it yesterday (Montreal Canada) But I'm Extremely disappointed.... Where's the BEEF ????

All that hype and no substantive changes!

Can someone lay out clearly what the Changes are to my Nexus 10 from the Kit Kat Update??
The ONLY changes I've noticed is the boring White Icon Colors and the addition of "Location" in the Settings Notification Bar pull down menu. and the Boring Settings page layout!

The whole Upgrade is BORING !!!!!! Where's the BEEF??????

Just got it in Richmond, VA. Pretty effortless and nothing life changing as far as I can tell. Back to the Gear update vigil :)

I installed the update today, the white vs blue doesn't really matter to me. What does matter is that I can no longer upload pics to FB. Every time I try I get a message that says "failed to open selected file".

1) Has anyone else had this problem?

2) Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Seems snappier after the ota. Not a lot of differences but better performance is always welcomed.
