Nexus 10 Clipboard Can't Hold Every Unicode Character

My Nexus 10 clipboard can't hold every Unicode character. For example, it holds this okay:

2600☀BLACK SUN WITH RAYS

but doesn't hold this okay:

2615 x HOT BEVERAGE

(where I've substituted "x" for what *should* actually be a steaming beverage mug icon).

By the way, here's my Nexus 10 version info:

Android version 4.2.2
Kernel version 3.4.5-gaf9c307

Why won't my Nexus 10 clipboard hold any & all Unicode characters?

Huh. Mine won't either, so maybe it just doesn't like coffee mugs!
