Recently, my Nexus 10 isn't showing up under Computer -> Devices and Removable Storage when I plug it into my computer with a USB to micro USB cable.

I found out that it had it do with changing the USB to micro USB cable.

The cable that came with my Nexus 10 was tearing due to bending.

I found a Logitech USB to micro USB cable lying around, and used that.

I didn't think that there were problems with that cable because it was charging the device fine.

I then found some information from a metafilter post:

The stock Nexus 10 USB to micro USB cable, and a bought Cirago USB to micro USB cable made my Nexus 10 show up, but the Logitech USB to micro USB cable did not.

It seems that USB to micro USB cables can differ, as some cables only charge, but don't transfer data.

This can certainly be the case. What was the Logitech cable from? If it came with a device that never was intended to communicate with a computer via USB (e.g., a wireless speaker that charges up via USB port), then the cable might be a charge-only cable.
