He confirmed it is unlocked and there is no WiFi calling. Anyone going to try and score one early?

Ah, the retail box looks sooooo good.

Re: Nexus 4 Shipments Arrive in T-Mobile Stores
You won't be able to get the unlocked version at the same price as the GP store correct?
If it's $349 across the board than yes, I will be looking locally

Re: Nexus 4 Shipments Arrive in T-Mobile Stores
I read that TMobile said you can do wifi calling. It doesn't affect me, but for the love of God, can someone get a straight answer?!

If you get the phone with there 2-year agreement than yes
If you buy unlocked than no

Any cases for it come in? I really want a case because of my two young sons.

Re: Nexus 4 Shipments Arrive in T-Mobile Stores
I use GrooVe IP on my Nexus 7 for Wifi calling and it works great. Wouldn't this be a way around the T-Mobile and contract issue. I am on AT&T cell plan so not sure what T-Mobile Wifi is for sure but would seem like a good work around to me.

The OP said it was confirmed no WiFi calling, sounds semi straight to me.

Sure thing. This is from Pete's first hand experience of using the phone:

NO, NO, NO. No Nexus 4 has wifi calling out of the box, there may come a workaround to get it, but no matter who you buy it from it does NOT have it.

And there's this:
Quote:
Editor's note: T-Mobile has confirmed that the Nexus 4 will not support Wi-Fi calling. The carrier has corrected the support documents, which a spokesman said were originally posted with incorrect information.

Do you believe TMobile, or the people who make the phone? lol

Re: Nexus 4 Shipments Arrive in T-Mobile Stores
Is that bar-code thing on the top of LG going to be on the back of all the phones? That looks so annoying and takes away from the beauty of the back.

It's a sticker and comes off, at least it was on mine.

T-Mobile support documents that are auto-generated templates for every phone say it does.
T-Mobile spokespeople and employees explain that it doesn't.

Not any more, and the original "statement" was in error.
They did, in a cut-and-pasted boilerplate support document that some one apparently forgot to cut out before posting it. An error that has since been corrected.

Or do you have another source that is now saying it does?
Sorry, I wish it did, too. All the carriers have somewhat spotty coverage in my house and I'd GLADLY PAY for seamless WiFi calling.
But it ain't there. That doesn't mean that someone (even T-Mobile) won't add it later - I could easily see T-Mo downloading the firmware and adding it if the phone is popular enough, but then all your firmware updates would have to go through T-Mo on their way to you, so at some point when T-Mobile gives up on doing this you'll end up either living with older firmware or going back to Google OTA and losing WiFi calling.

I dont know TMobile Policy, But I worked for a carrier in Canada, and it looks like it is just an IMEI sticker, It should be removable, but will make the activation process faster because the fella at the counter can just scan it in instead of typing all the numbers by hand.
Even though it's likely printed on the box as well I know I got into the habit of scanning the device it's self because it's easy for boxes to get swapped by accident.
I wouldnt worry though once it is in your hands, I bet you'll be free to peel away!

It's like any new phone that has a sticker/protector on the phone. You can see the cutout around the camera/flash
Question is can you remove JUST the barcode part and leave that back protector on? Either way, I might leave it on until some back protectors come out.

Re: Nexus 4 Shipments Arrive in T-Mobile Stores
I will be going in to drool over one but will buy the much cheaper unlocked via Google Play. (But T-Mobile won't lose out entirely as I'll probably be going with their prepaid service)

Re: Nexus 4 Shipments Arrive in T-Mobile Stores
So T-Mobile stores will have them tomorrow? That would be sweet as I want to see it in person before ordering:D
