Things getting a little heated in here last few pages. Lets keep our heads and not resort to any personal attacks or uncalled for comments/language.

Thanks...

Continue the discussion.

This whole delay really wouldn't be an issue for me had I not sold my Galaxy Nexus after I confirmed my order of the Nexus 4. Had I not done that, I would be perfectly fine waiting for the N4, but my lack of having a phone now is what really causes this to be a much dire situation than me having to have the latest and greatest, I'm not that hung up on that aspect of this transaction.

It's walking around using a Motorola RAZR V3R as my daily driver that is driving me insane!

ROFL, continue the discussion? lol....seriously its useless to even discuss about someone who doesn't really care to communicate what went wrong and apologize for the way it was handled.. "Last ordered, first shipped"

Dude, I couldn't handle that. That's crazy! Here I am walking around with an iPhone 5 and I'm quite perturbed waiting this long for N4, but I couldn't imagine rocking a Razr V3 everyday! Good luck to you!

Apology aside....I just can't wrap my head around the fact that Google doesn't know how many orders they took, how many they shipped, how many they have left, when more will come in, and how many will be coming in. Why is it that they can't get the basics of being able to take an order and ship it? It makes very little sense to me that this company cannot perform with a sliver of intelligence.

Razr V3 you talk about, Im hanging out here with Blackberry 7290, google it, you will be amazed. Sporting it since the day my BB8900 broke and i had my eyes on galaxy nexus until nexus 4 rumours started comming and then came the 29th and then came the oh so brilliant 13th. What followed is just disastrous.

This thread is so entertaining to read. I'm waiting as well for my Nexus 4 that I ordered, but I can't believe how insane some people are acting over not getting their phone, right now! First world problems...For those that are providing useful information about any updates, thank you for that and I appreciate it.

what more entrtaining is all the people saying this. No one who is complaining is comparing this to starving kids in africa or any of that. All were saying is this was handled poorly and when a comany has $400 of my money on hold and i don't even have official info about the product i have the right to get a little antsy. Just as you have the right to not care. All these people saying this generation that and first world problems this can be accused of the same thing they're complaining about. Does it really make a difference in your life if people whine about not having thier phone? No it doesn't no more differance then not having ths phone makes in my life yet were both sitting here complaining.

Just got off the phone with a CSR asking why I just received an email saying my Nexus 4 would be delivered in the "3 week time frame". He gave no explanation of why my order was moved from 3-5 days to 3 weeks, but he told me that once I receive my phone I will be able to get a refund on my shipping costs. That made things about 5% better for me, but I am still really angry. He had no information other than that though, giving the same old line "Your order is in the chargeable state, and I can move you to a specialist". I told him that another CSR "moved me to a specialist" two days ago, and I have received no follow up from them. He acted really surprised by this, and told me he would "personally make sure the specialist takes care of my order". He couldn't even give me an estimate of when my order might ship. This whole ordering process has been truly frustrating. Also, when I was talking with the CSR, it sounded like there was a zoo in the background...

...

This bugs me. To date, I have not received a single email, not even the confirmation email I was supposed to receive within minutes of finalizing my order.

Yes, I have verified my email address (a gmail account, no less) and yes I have checked my spam folder and yes I do receive those silly follow-up emails each time I have called customer service.

But no confirmation, no shipping, no back order, no "3 week time frame" email either.

When I spoke with CS during lunch today, he said well it's good that you haven't received a back-order email. I said how is that good? Did I not receive one because I am not back-ordered? Or because for some reason I am not receiving ANY emails? How am I supposed to know the difference?

I think it's clear the tactic now for Google is to hold out and stall until Monday with the "in the window" line knowing they'll miss it. Then when people call to complain they'll string them along for another three days "it should go out by Wednesday." At that point they'll be up against the holiday and can use that as an excuse, buying them time to get additional inventory to solve the mess. My guess is a conservative estimate of when we'll see our devices is November 28-30.
This is playing out exactly as I predicted on Friday. I had really wished I would be wrong.

The truly odd thing is not a single major tech blog is covering this Google fiasco. Blogs like Engadget, Verge and Slashgear have just mentioned about backorder, but nothing about how orders placed as early as 8:30 haven't shipped yet or how the CSR are just giving bogus answers. If this fiasco would have happened at iPhone 5 launch everyday we would have read headlines like 'Apple messed Up', 'iPhone customers still waiting for answers'. And there would have been many articles about how Apple doesn't care about customers and just profit.
Why no one is cover Google like that?
If someone would cover this fiasco properly Google might come under-pressure to get their act right and solve the problem.

Google may own the smartphone market, but the reality of it is this phone won't even make a dent compared to the sales of the iPhone 5 or the GS3. In the past, none of the Nexus devices have ever made that much of an impact. Maybe that will change from here on and that might be why Google was unprepared. I'd like to know just how many are really affected by all this. I would venture a guess of 50k

EDIT: Even so, I'm sure those sites will post something about it at some point. It will probably just take a little longer since we're technically still under a week from the launch date.

Nexus 4 is the flagship Android phone and more than sales its about what Android universe has to offer, so this fiasco looks very bad. Also, if it was Apple this news would have been reported on last Wednesday, not a week after the launch. I want every site to cover this fiasco so that Google would come under pressure and I would get my Phone soon.:-$

Maybe phil should take up this and use it as a sticky on androidcentral.com? "Will we ever see the nexus 4 devices shipped? Or do we need to win a war to get our devices?"

Agreed, it certainly looks bad. Hopefully that petition starts something... I see we're only 11 sigs away, although I don't really get what happens after 1000. Is it like a state trying to secede where 1000 votes mysteriously gets their attention? lol
